Last Sabbath – The Witches RPG
Last Sabbath is a masterless, rules-light, cooperative (or solo) tabletop journaling RPG. The Witches RPG takes you and your Coven on a magical journey from the initiation to the confrontation with an awful threat, through the discovery and control of your consuming powers.
The Mother’s Call has many forms: a whisper in the wind, a light from the bottom of the sea, symbols that are magically engraved upon the skin. If you choose to answer, the place where you will receive the Power will be revealed to you.
You will be able to face the journey alone or in the company of a Coven of sisters and brothers. The Coven have chosen, like you, to share the path of magic, but there is a price to pay every time you use it: to consume the memories of your own Life. And there is no going back.
From the rite of Initiation to the confrontation with a terrible Threat, to proceed in History you will have to interpret the Signs of what is about to happen using the tool of your choice: tarot cards, runes, dice or coffee grounds. You have no limits, the choice is free, as is the duration and the very nature of the tale, good or evil, redeeming or catastrophic. In the Grimoire you will nevertheless find many ideas that you can use to proceed towards your Destiny.
The really important thing is to keep track of progress and events in the Journal. You can write, draw or compose collages to tell what happens and to share it with those who accompany you. Just remember that every participant in the Last Sabbath shares the same ability to change the course of events. The only limit is the imagination… or the Fear.
Last Sabbath is a role-playing game inspired by the wonderful witch tales of Jessica Cioffi, otherwise known as Loputyn, author of Cotton Tales, Francis and Aether. Featuring 48 exquisitely-illustrated pages, this zine is a memorable experience about sacrifice, redemption and the power of magic.
ORIGINAL GAMEPLAY
Last Sabbath is a cooperative (or solo) RPG in which players are called to write the History of their coven in a shared Diary, from the initiatory sabbath to the confrontation with the Threat. As a journaling game, you will track your Memories, create Spells, and write imaginary description from the perspective of your characters newly embarking on their quest for Power which shape how the protagonists overcomes challenges and meets their denouement after seven scenes. The rules are very simple and the events follow one another in turn, improvising together, in a collaborative story. The handbook will inspire you through questions, tests and prompts for adventures. To move forward in the various scenes, the game will ask you on several occasions to interpret signs drawn from a divination tool such as the Tarot.

Power comes at a cost: will you spend your Life or Memories for powerful spells, or nurture the connections with your Coven?
