About the Game

Symbaroum is a fantasy tabletop RPG. It is often described as dark, gritty, and deadly. The game was first released in Swedish in 2014. It was translated into English for a worldwide release in 2016. Since then, it has captured the imagination of an ever-growing number of gamers. Today, the game line encompasses a dozen hardcover books. It also includes several support products, such as card sets, maps, and more.

The Symbaroum rule set uses a D20 system. It is a roll-under, player-facing system. The rules are designed to be quick, punishing, and easy to learn. The system is highly flexible and modular. Players who want more complexity can use optional rules. They can also easily introduce their own house rules.

The game is flexible in the types of play it supports. It can focus on action and/or intrigue working for one-shot scenarios and long adventure campaigns. It supports serious stories as well as furious fun. However, the flagship of Symbaroum is often considered to be the acclaimed six-part adventure chronicle The Throne of Thorns. Each episode is standalone but interlinked. Each one offers a massive adventure. They also introduce new lore, setting information, equipment, abilities, and optional rules.
