Description
HandyMaps Towns & Villages
HandyMaps: Towns and Villages is a set of 12 cards printed to A5 (210x148mm or 5.85″x8.27″) on 350gsm uncoated paper. They’re a perfect accessory for GMs needing a village on-the-fly, or wanting to quickly populate a town as a permanent campaign fixture.
Each card has a town or village map printed on each side, providing a total of 24 maps. MonkeyBlood Design features many of these maps in its The Midderlands products, making them particularly useful for Midderlands-themed campaigns while remaining suitable for any fantasy RPG.
Also in the HandyMaps series:
- HandyMaps: Buildings and Structures
- HandyMaps: Dungeons, Caves, and Strange Locales
- HandyMaps: Deluxe Box
- HandyMaps: A5 Storage Box (supplied empty)
What is The Midderlands?
The Midderlands is a game setting with bestiary for use with old-school role-playing games. The setting, based on Swords & Wizardry Complete, works easily with other old-school systems like Castles & Crusades and even non-OSR systems like D&D or Pathfinder.
It is a green-hued, dark-fantasy, late-middle ages, early-renaissance view through grime-smeared spectacles. The setting itself is based on the area in the centre of England where the author lives called The Midlands. Many of the locations are loosely based on reality, but others are pure fantasy from an addled mind.
The setting part of the book contains something the author calls “game-juice”. Not heavy of history and monotonous detail, but enough to get the game-juices flowing and let the Game Master twist and tweak as they need to in order to fit their campaign.
